Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Meaningful Flowers

 

Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop and our exploration of the August kit: Meaningful Flowers.  Each designer will have a clever and creative idea for alternative designs.

The kit includes these elements.

This kit has 2 card designs and 4 cards per design.  

I love to cut up pretty envelopes and use them as card layers.  So I cut the edges off either side of the envelope.  Cut off the adhesive on the envelope flap, open the bottom fold and cut at the fold line.

My first altnerative design shows stamping a background layer and the printed layer from the envelope onto the center of the card front.

My second alternative design is the same printed envelope layer on top of an embossed background layer.  I stamped off the floral image once on my grid paper and then applied the image over the stamped sentiment.  The edges of the sentiment square are smudged with Garden Green ink so it stands out against the Basic White layer. 

This printed paper is stunning and really stands out on the Basic White layer and Garden Green card base.  Which do you like best: the embossed or stamped layer idea?

Super Saturday Stamping Soiree Fundraiser

On September 16th, you're invited to join me for a fabulous day of creation and celebration in Boise! We will be celebrating my 50th birthday with some awesome classes, and raising money to support the Idaho Suicide Hotline in honor of Suicide Awareness month.

There will be 3 classes available, with enough time given to complete them all during the event. Alternatively, there are options from our Kits Collection on the registration form, if that fits your stampin' style better! 

The evening option is Speedy Stamping Bingo, which will feature simple, cute cards, and awesome gift certificate prizes for Stampin' Up! products, with a portion of the fee going towards the ISH fundraiser.

Everyone is welcome. Invite your friends and be ready to have a fun day out! 

This event will include:

Table space and surprises 

Optional add-ons for the stamps and tools offered in each class

Raffle prizes - tickets will be available for purchase at event

ICS Blog Hop Trucking Along Embossing

Welcome to our Inspire, Create, Share blog hop!  Tonight we are sharing techniques with you to inspire your crafting options.

I am sharing how to use a portion of an embossing folder to create a different use for embossed layers.

I liked how the diagonal lines look like a snowfall effect.

See how it is only on a portion of the interior layer that peeks out to the front of the z-fold?

I embossed just the right-side edge with the diagonal stripes texture.

Tip: use washi tape to place the layer into place in the embossing folder.  This layer and folder will be the full width of the opening of the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Beware to place them into the machine with straight alignment so that the side of the machine doesn’t push the cardstock out of placement in the embossing folder.
